Sarasota County Branch NAACP Youth Council
The Youth Council of the Sarasota County Branch NAACP is sponsoring a candidate’s forum on Saturday August 16, 2008 from 1:30 to 5pm at the Newtown Estates Community Center - 2800 Newtown Estates Boulevard Sarasota, Florida.
Candidates for the following offices will be present: Public Defender 12th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Sarasota County Sheriff - Sarasota County Commission District 1 - Sarasota Supervisor of Elections – Florida House District 55 – Florida House District 69 - Sarasota County School Board District 2 – U. S. Congress District 13.
This forum presents an opportunity for North county residents to ask questions of the candidates about issues important to them and their families.

You are invited to the Candidates’ Fair sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Friends of Gulf Gate Library on
Thursday, August 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

We’ll provide a unique opportunity for our members to meet the primary candidates, one on one, ask questions, and express your thoughts to them in an informal setting.
There will be no speeches

This was a huge event in 2006 and we’re anticipating an even bigger crowd this year.
We’ll follow up with a fall event in preparation of the General Election in November as well.

This event is open to the public. Please come by and bring your friends
